New Camera Registration: `FF240001`

Comments

Again, according E8M (formerly nya) on the chinese microblogging platform weibo1, Fujifilm has registered a new camera with the local authorities. The identifier of that camera is FF240001.

Thus, there are now three unreleased cameras Fujifilm has registered.

So far, the following cameras have been registered by Fujifilm in 2023:

IDNameRegistration DateRelease Date
FF230001GFX 100 IIJanuary 13th, 2023September 12th, 2023
FF220002X-S20February 3rd, 2023May 24th, 2023
FF230002?June 19th, 2023?
FF230003?November 24th, 2023?
FF240001?December 8th, 2023?

X100VI, X-Pro4 and GFX 100S II likely to be revealed early 2024

The most likely scenario is that the unreleased cameras are:

  • X100VI
  • X-Pro4
  • GFX 100S II

More speculations

E8M is sharing many more rumors. The better part of them seem to be from questionable sources, so please take what follows with a huge grain of salt. With that being said, here is the machine translated text of E8M's post:

The following is the basic and accurate information consolidated by multiple information sources:

  1. Fuji may release more than 4 new cameras in 2024, and even reach 6.

  2. 2024 is the year of GFX, and GFX100S II will be launched after GFX100 II, which has the style of X-T5 after X-H2. Among them, the EVF is changed back to a non-removable design and the resolution is reduced. The body design is more retro, and the top is more inclined to the elegant pulsator look. The 8K video was canceled.

  3. GFX100S II cancels most of the video functions and only provides full-width 4K/30pHQ and 4K/60p videos, as well as 1080/120p videos. At the same time, the 14bit 8fps RAW continuous shooting of 12bit AD is canceled, reducing the continuous shooting cache, but the focusing system is consistent with GFX100 II.

  4. X100V follow-up machine is almost fixed, but not clear all specifications. But using a X-T5 and X-H2 40 million pixel sensor is the biggest possibility.

The following information is highly reliable:

  1. When X-Pro 4 is updated, its performance is basically the same as X-T5. One of the most remarkable is that this abstract folding screen has been changed and finally turned into a modern folding screen, with a shaft added to normal Live View.

  2. X-Pro 4 brings new film simulation, but still retains the film small display. (Not the same source as 4)

  3. Relevant people claim that X100V follow-up machine supports IBIS and lens anti-shake coordination, and supports multi-frame 160MP high-resolution mode.

  4. GFX100S II may bring a new pricing range, GFX100S, GFX100S II, GFX100 II, three machines sold together, to build a new 4433 picture price echelon. GFX100S of them may also fall in price.

The following information is generally reliable:

The high-resolution sensor of the 7. X100V follow-up machine enables it to support the equivalent 35mm lens with a 50mm mode of cutting 20 million pixels. (Not Fuji style)

  1. 2023 Q3 to 2024 Q3 is GFX year, not only GFX 100 II,GFX 100S II, but also several GF lenses with good focusing performance. (Personally skeptical) In addition, there is a new positioning camera of GFX 25, whose resolution is only 1/4 of GFX 100 II, but it is suitable for high-sensitivity scenes, high-speed continuous shooting scenes and most important video scenes.

  2. Multiple information sources claim the existence of GFX 25 and consider its main video shot. (I have received this kind of obsession no less than 7 times.)

  3. GFX25 supports 4:3 OG 5.8K/30p, 17:9 point-to-point 5.8K/60p,Premista cutting point-to-point 17:9 5.4K/60p,35mm cutting point-to-point 4.8K/60p, super-sampling 4K/60p for all image field cutting, and cutting point-to-point 4K/120p. (As far as I know, Fuji's encoder does not design 60p recording with a resolution above 4K. If there is GFX25, the resolution may be correct, but the maximum frame rate is wrong.)

Essentially impossible information:

  1. GFX 2024's largest flagship GFX 200 (16384x 12 288 200M stacked sensor) will be launched from September to December 2024. (Where do you get the sensor? What price do you sell? Can you still do business?)

  2. X-T40 is ready for sale. Its 40 just fits 40Mp and is equipped with a 40 million pixel sensor. (⑧ Comment: There is such a narrow price range between X-S20 and X-T5. Fuji can't get a X-T40 of 40 meters, it's almost fighting with X-T5.)

The reliability of the following information cannot be determined:

The X-E series will X-Summit updated in the summer of 2024 with X-S20-approximated hardware. 14. GF system in the preparation of 14-20mm range of ultra wide angle lens. 15. The 2x TC loop of the GF system is to be rolled out.
