According to a FujiRumors.com¹, Fujifilm will release the FUJINON XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 R LM WR as their next lens. It is said to replace the FUJINON XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS kit lens.

Apart from the obvious change in focal length and aperture, the letters at the end are notable.

The R stands for Ring, meaning the lens features an aperture ring. LM is for Linear Motor. The linear motor has the advantages of allowing for fast, quiet and accurate focusing.

While the new lens features Weather Resistance (WR), it does no longer feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) if the information is to be believed.
